Clippers advance, knock out Grizzlies 82-72
Chris Paul played with an aching right hip and Blake Griffin's sprained left knee stiffened up during the game. If the LA Clippers were truly a two-man team, then they would have been in trouble facing elimination by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Good thing the guys on the Clippers' bench want to keep playing.
Kenyon Martin's 23-footer put the Clippers ahead to start a fourth quarter in which backups scored 25 of their 27 points, helping Los Angeles' other NBA team beat Memphis 82-72 Sunday and advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
Although the San Antonio Spurs swept Utah in the first series, they will surely see some tougher resistance in the second series against the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s going to be a great series to have tickets for, don't miss out on seeing these two great teams live!
Dodgers slug way past Rockies, 11-5
But soon a frustrated Kemp was throwing his glove in the Dodgers’ dugout after irritating his sore left hamstring against the Colorado Rockies.
Then Ethier and manager Don Mattingly were thrown out for arguing Ethier's called third strike in the sixth inning.
But Bobby Abreu hit a three-run double and A.J. Ellis hit a three-run home run in a six-run fifth inning that put the Dodgers ahead to stay in an 11-5 victory.
And that enabled left-hander Ted Lilly to earn his fifth victory without a loss this season despite a wobbly first inning.
Throw it all together and the Dodgers swept the three-game series and improved their big league-best record to 23-11.

Lakers Beat Nuggets In Game 7
So much for Mike Brown getting fired.
With rumors about their coach's future dominating the headlines, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to ignore the distractions and eliminate the Denver Nuggets 96-87 in Game 7 on Saturday night.
It was a weird game for the Lakers, with Metta World Peace returning, Pau Gasol playing like an animal and Steve Blake scoring more points than Kobe Bryant.
Now the Lakers will turn their attention to Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder. For many, Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets was a “championship” game because regardless of who steps on the court against Oklahoma on Tuesday, the chances of beating the Thunder in the series is slim.

Kings grab series opener against Coyotes
Quick yielded a goal from the red line Sunday in the opener of the Western Conference finals, a shocking development on several levels. First, being beaten on an unscreened, 98-foot shot by Phoenix defenseman Derek Morris was uncharacteristic for Quick, a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goalie during the season and a postseason MVP candidate. And it allowed the Coyotes to pull even in a game the Kings had been dominating, making it a potential tipping point.
Not to worry. Even though Quick was involved in a mix-up with his defensemen on Phoenix's second goal, which tied the score again, he sent the ghosts of the Kings' ghastly goaltending back to their coffins.
